BASIC COSTUME RULES
• Costumes may not be violent or suggestive.
* No blood or horror movie characters - No - Freddy Krueger, Jason, Scream, Chucky, etc.
• Costumes may not promote violence or have accessories or props that could be used as a weapon.
• Masks are permitted only during the Parade of Costume
• Light make-up or face-paints are permitted but must not interfere with learning for the day
• No bare midriffs or “revealing” clothing, must follow school dress code
• Appropriate shoes must be worn, etc. • You must be able to sit, walk, breathe, see, and hear (no masks after Parade of Costume).
• Costumes cannot promote the use of drugs, alcohol, or weapons of any kind.
• No pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives, or swords. • All school rules will be enforced (i.e., no bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, etc.).
• Costumes may not be offensive or inappropriate in any way.
• Students should not wear costumes that make fun of others or make others feel uncomfortable.
It is suggested that students bring a change of clothes.

We've been learning volleyball skills for the past couple of weeks, and yesterday we played a game called Rally Time in PE! Students were asked to choose players from the other teams that were showing INTEGRITY! These were students who were chosen as the MVPs for Integrity in the A class rotation! We are proud of you!!!
The Literati Book Fair is coming to our school next week, October 9th-12th. When you go online and start typing the school name, click on the one that says Purcell Elementary. Our book fair will also be open during our evening conferences next week. We can't wait!
FEMA, in conjunction with other agencies, will conduct a test at 1:20 p.m. on October 4, 2023, on the nation's emergency alert system. This is a nationwide test. This test will alert on cell phones (if your cellular provider is participating), televisions, and radios. No action is needed or required for this alert. Should the test be delayed, then the backup date for the alert test is October 11th. More information can be found at the link below.

Last week we enjoyed welcoming bicycle stuntman Rich Wieber to our school! Rich has been competing in bicycle stunt competitions since the 1980's! Rich shared his story with our students in hopes to instill perseverance and will power and encourage them to chase after their dreams!
THANK YOU RICH for being a great role model and positive influence to kids.
Wednesday the 27th, we celebrated September birthdays with another awesome GLOW DAY brought to you by PTO and volunteers! As always, the kids had the best time!
