Our amazing art students, led by teacher Jon Corea, just wrapped up a super fun Pop Art unit that merged art history with adorable character design! 🤩
Students dove into the iconic Disney art style—think bold colors, clean lines, and those unmistakable exaggerated features. Their mission? To transform real-life animals into lovable, cartoon characters! 🐾
And here's the best part: As part of our climate and culture effort to make staff feel at home, the students used our PHS staff members' pets as their muses! ❤️ Using either digital or traditional techniques, they turned our furry friends into true Disney stars.

We know many families in our community count on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP) to provide meals for their families. Unfortunately, due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits will likely be temporarily interrupted, beginning Nov. 1. We understand this disruption may cause uncertainty, worry, and financial burden for some members of our school family.
Please know those impacted are not alone; we’re here to help. We hope the following information will be beneficial to those facing difficulty during this challenging time:
Students will continue to receive breakfast and lunch at school, based on their current eligibility status. If a family’s financial circumstances have changed for any reason, including government furloughs, parents can apply or update their free or reduced-price meal application by visiting our website at www.purcellps.org
Parents can dial 211 on their phones to receive additional information about food banks, pantries, and other community support programs across Oklahoma. Please contact Malia Turner turnerm@purcellps.org, School-Based Family Specialist, at 405-442-0099 for support in locating resources.
Our school team stands ready to support anyone with questions or specific needs. Please contact your child’s school office if we can assist your family.

They mastered the science of density and buoyancy by diving into the history, parts, and operation of hot air balloons before successfully building and flying their own! 🎈🔬
We're thrilled to see this program take off and fuel the future of aviation. Did you know the Oklahoma Aviation and Aerospace Industry is the state's second-largest and fastest-growing economic engine, generating nearly $44 billion annually and supporting 206,000 jobs or that the average salary of direct employees in the industry is $73,000?
