We have been working hard in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades on our sight words to finish out our year strong! These students have all learned new words to earn their 25, 50, 100 and a few earned a 250 sight word BRAG TAG!

Our 2nd graders have read 560,600 words so far this month! We are trying to beat last months words read of 630,000 words, it looks like they are going to do it!

Our 2nd graders had their field trip today. They began with a visit to the Sam Noble Museum and finished with lunch at Reaves Park! Thank you parents and staff for helping make this trip a success!
We are PROUD to announce Purcell Elementary’s Teacher of the Year, Ms. Amanda Uhlenhake! She is a wonderful kindergarten teacher who has taught at PES for 16 years. Super PROUD of Lane Montgomery and Asher Stone from Mrs. Dobbins’ 2nd Grade!! These two 2nd grade students did an awesome job as they presented their projects to the School Board and audience tonight. They did a great job standing up and presenting in front of a large crowd as they explained projects they have been working on this year in their classroom.

We challenged 2nd grade to read and pass books in the month of March. They blew us away with all the reading they did!!! They passed 414 books!! Way to go 2nd grade!
Those 414 books contained 659,269 words!! Sooooooo in the month of April we are challenging them to go OVER THE RAINBOW and beat that amount of words! 🌈🌤🌈
Let’s see if our Dragons are up for the challenge!!
