Purcell Public School’s Indian Education Committee is scheduled to meet January 15 at 5:30 pm in Room 110 of the Administration Bldg. The purpose of the meeting is to complete a Mid-Year Report and plan for JOM spring activities. The meeting is open to the public.

Dear Purcell Public Schools Parents,
As frigid weather continues, please ensure your child wears warm, appropriate clothing for the season. Hats, gloves, and layered clothing are highly recommended to keep them comfortable throughout the day. If your child needs a coat or other winter accessories, please reach out to the school. We have access to clothing closets that can be utilized to meet many needs.
Additionally, please stay alert for any communications from the District regarding potential changes to the schedule due to snowy or icy weather. We will keep you informed through our usual channels.

School resumes for students on Tuesday, January 7th.
Boys basketball travels to the Verdigris Tournament January 9-11. Attached is the bracket. Verdigris will live stream via nfhs network. Boys opening game will be January 9th at 8:30 PM vs Wagoner.
The Lady Dragons Basketball Team has been invited to the prestigious Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic. This will be the second time that Purcell has been invited to this tournament. The last appearance by Purcell was 1995. Attached is the bracket for the tournament. Games will be played December 26-28 at East Central University.

BASKETBALL SCHEDULE UPDATES
Tonight will be JV boys at 5pm. No JV girls. Varsity girls starting at 6:30, varsity boys following girls game.
On Thursday, there will be no 9th grade girls game at Comanche. 7th, 8th, and 9th grade boys games will be played at Purcell. First games start at 5pm.
The varsity Marlow game that was rescheduled for 1/18, had to be moved due to scheduling conflicts. These games have been moved to 2/8. These games will take place at Marlow. Varsity girls at 1pm, and varsity boys following.
The Indian Education Committee meeting this evening to discuss JOM activities has been canceled. We will post when the meeting is rescheduled.
Purcell Public Schools Announces New Junior High Golf Program
Purcell Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of a new Junior High Golf program, set to begin in the spring semester. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to expanding athletic opportunities and promoting a well-rounded educational experience for our students.
The Junior High Golf program will be open to students in grades 7 and 8. It aims to introduce students to the fundamentals of golf while encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
"We are thrilled to offer this new program to our junior high students," said Dr. Sheli McAdoo, Superintendent of Purcell Public Schools. "Golf is a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime, and we believe it will provide our students with valuable lessons in discipline, patience, and strategic thinking."

Coach Steve Clary and the Purcell Junior High Archery team shot their way to a fantastic third place finish at the Lexington Tournament this past Saturday!
Our Purcell Boys were on target with 5 archers placing in the top 20:
- Hayes Anderson secured a stellar 6th place!
- Xander Schutza took 7th
- Mathew Swanner came in 9th
- Holiday Napier finished 13th
- Easton Resendiz captured 16th
Meanwhile, the Purcell Girls made their mark with two archers in the top 20:
- Kate Feroli placed 12th
- Emery Bourassa placed 13th

Purcell's Indian Education Committee will meet December 12 at 5:30 pm in Purcell High School, Room 161. The meeting will include planning for JOM Program spring activities. Meetings are open to the public.
Big day of basketball ahead for the Dragons.
Yesterday, the 9th grade boys team beat Washington 44-20. They face off with Marlow at noon in the Jack Dallas Grimmett Tournament at Pauls Valley.
9th grade girls also played yesterday in the Grimmett Tournament beating Dickson 49-12. Girls will be back in action today at 3 vs Pauls Valley.
Varsity teams are heading to their opening games at the Madill Winter Classic. Girls play at 10 AM vs Sulphur and the boys open with Dickson at 2:30. All Madill tournament games will be streamed via Fan Hudl. Please scan QR code to access live streaming. Go Dragons!
