Today we recognized National Special Education Day. This day commemorates the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) into law in 1975. This legislation guarantees all individuals with disabilities the right to a free and appropriate public education. It's an important reminder of all the progress made towards ensuring public schools provide equal educational opportunities to ALL students.
I wish to take this opportunity to recognize this amazing team of teachers who make a difference everyday in the lives of our students.
