Message from Dr. McAdoo, Superintendent
Happy Summer Dragons!
I hope this message finds you enjoying sun, fun and creating great family memories. Even though the start of school is still several weeks away, I know many of you have questions about the fall semester, which is understandable. We miss our students! There is an excitement building about the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you for everyone who completed the Return to School Survey. Your feedback will serve as a helpful tool as we continue to plan for the return of students. Please know that we are constructing several different scenarios to ensure we can safely serve students when they return on August 13th. Families will have the option of a full virtual experience if they feel this meets the needs of their student. We will have traditional classes, but we will be prepared to integrate technology for blended learning where students will be able to continue learning in the event school must close for COVID-19.
We will continue to work with local and state health and education officials to be sure the measures we put in place will meet the specific needs of our community and district, as well as comply with required guidelines. While no one can predict the future, there is one thing I can guarantee: Purcell PS will focus on creating the safest school environment possible that protects our students and staff. Their health is our number one priority. We also want school to be a comfortable and enjoyable place for them to learn, even though it may look different than it has in the past. Over the next several weeks, we will keep you updated on our progress through the district webpage www.purcellps.org and social media. For now, we wish you a wonderful summer break. As always, we appreciate your support of Purcell PS. We can't wait to see you in the fall!
