Election

Dear Dragon Family,

As we approach November 5th, the significance of our participation in this election cannot be overstated. On this day, EDUCATION is literally and figuratively on the ballot. Every registered voter in Oklahoma will have the opportunity to shape the future by voting for presidential and vice-presidential candidates, an Oklahoma Corporation Commission seat, judicial retention, and two state questions. Depending on your location, additional federal, state legislative (House District 20 and Senate District 43), and local issues might also be present on your ballot.

The decisions made through these elections will influence countless aspects of our education system, touching upon critical areas like funding, curriculum, teacher certification, professional development, salaries, school safety, wellness, and the well-being of our students.

At Purcell Public Schools, we encourage you to take this responsibility seriously and to cast an informed vote. Here’s how you can prepare:

- CHECK your voter registration, know your county election board and precinct location, and view sample ballots at the Oklahoma Voter Portal

- UPDATE your registration information. If you need to make changes, complete and submit the necessary forms by October 21st, respectively, to be eligible for the November 5th election.

- LEARN about the candidates and issues. Utilize the voter portal to see what will appear on your ballot, and explore reliable resources to help you make an informed decision.

- VOTE! Whether it’s on Election Day, through early voting, or via absentee ballot, we appreciate your dedication to your civic duties and to the future of Oklahoma's children. If the November 5th polling hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) are inconvenient, explore early voting or vote-by-mail options.

- REMIND friends and family to participate in this election.

Voting Options:

- Absentee Voting by Mail: Request an absentee ballot by 5 p.m. on October 21st. Ensure ballots are notarized and delivered by 5 p.m. November 5th to be counted. More details are available on the state Election Board website.
